The new regulations of EU CE certification have landed! The portable energy storage power supply (> ＞160Wh) needs to be tested with EMC and LVD, and it will be updated before June 2026.
In January, 2026, the EU officially issued the notice of CE certification update for portable energy storage power supply. For portable energy storage power supply products with a capacity of > ＞160Wh, special test requirements for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and low voltage (LVD) were added. All related products need to be certified and updated before June, 2026, and unqualified products will be banned from entering the EU market. This new regulation further tightens the compliance threshold of portable energy storage power supply in the EU market, and brings new challenges and compliance guidelines for Chinese foreign trade enterprises to export to the European market.
As the core market of portable energy storage power export, the European Union has always had strict requirements on the safety and compliance of electronic and electrical products. This new EMC and LVD special test is not an additional access condition, but a further refinement and strengthening of the compliance of portable energy storage power products, aiming at standardizing the market order, ensuring the safety of consumers and the stability of the power grid environment.
